Austin talks about Arts In The Heart of Augusta coming up this weekend and the celebration of art and cuisine.
Transcript:
Austin: With over 100,000 attendees expected Arts In The Heart of Augusta has become one of the largest celebrations of art and cuisine in the southeastern United States. My goodness gracious, lots to look forward to.
Arts In The Heart, of course, kicks off September 20th and runs all weekend. Coming up here in beautiful downtown Augusta. The festival this year features the Austin, Texas-based alternative rock group, Fastball, some chart hits from a few years back. That should be quite an attraction.
But really, what brings everybody downtown again is the availability of incredible arts and crafts and the cuisine which is represented with what they call nation celebrations all over the quad. I got to tell you, I think my favorite by far is the Jamaican. But that goes back.
A lot of the Asian foods, very, very unusual. The Hispanic food, the Asian food completely off the chain. You’re going to absolutely love the different national representations of food from all over.
Just a lot of fun. So bring your appetite and bring some money to spend because you’re going to love the great shopping possibilities at Arts In The Heart of Augusta going on this weekend.
And again, many thanks to the hundreds of volunteers that make it possible. A celebration of art and cuisine. Many thanks to the Augusta Arts Council for continuing to work very, very hard on this emerging, still emerging and still incredibly popular event. It is one of the highlights of everyone in the area that loves art and food.
Arts in the Heart kicks off this weekend. Get down and enjoy it. That’s the comment. I’m Austin Rhodes, 95.1 FM News Talk WGAC.
