CityServe Augusta Needs YOU
While it seems like the world around us is chaos, did you ever look around and wonder if there was anything you could do to change the state of things? Well, there is and you can! CityServe Augusta is an initiative to help organize local churches, nonprofits and community leaders to partner together to address our community needs by partnering together.
CityServe Augusta
CityServe Augusta is happening on October 5th, from 9am to noon. Volunteers will be dispersed to multiple project locations around the city and we’ll all come together to get these projects done. The projects might be cleaning neglected properties, changing abandoned property into community gardens or just city beautification and cleaning up litter and debris. This year’s projects will focus on resilience and building a resilient city for all citizens.
You can make a difference right here in your community! There are several projects to choose from. You can check out the proposed projects at the website. There are projects like adding a French drain to the Augusta Animal Services building on Mack Lane. The notes on the project tell you to bring shovels, loves and a wheelbarrow. Or you can sign up to plant trees at Lake Olmstead Park. Or help assemble resource bags for the homeless.
There are a number of volunteer opportunities! Simply sign up for the project you think you could help with the most and encourage your friends, neighbors, coworkers and family to join you!
On the day of the event you will simply show up at your project address and be ready to roll up your sleeves and get to work! You’ll sign a waiver, get a t-shirt and receive instructions for your project. Each site will have a limited amount of t-shirts so they will be first come first serve!
I can’t think of a better way to serve our community, make new friends and beautify our surroundings all in one day!
