WASHINGTON, DC - MARCH 3: U.S. President Donald Trump takes a question from a reporter in the Roosevelt Room of the White House on March 3, 2025 in Washington, DC. Trump announced that Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company, one of the largest manufacturers of semiconductor chips, plans to invest $100 billion in new manufacturing facilities in the United States. Austin talks about the joint Houses of Congress meeting to address the most controversial first month of any president.
Austin: Technically, it’s not a State of the Union address because the president hasn’t been in place long enough to actually call it that, but it is a meeting of the joint Houses of Congress, a joint session, and this will basically serve as a State of the Union address.
During this discussion, President Trump, no doubt, will be talking about the most controversial first month of any president that we’ve had in my lifetime, no doubt about it, following the suspension of US military aid to Ukraine. Tensions internationally are high. A lot of folks are gonna be watching this from outside the country trying to gauge what the president’s mood is for continued work and or effort toward the Ukrainian peace process with Russia and, of course, foreign aid in general.
And ladies and gentlemen, of course, President Trump will be addressing his domestic highlights and priorities, specifically, the reduction in government that Elon Musk has been heading up and also preserving his 02/2017 tax cuts.
To say that, the eyes of the world beyond this president would be a under sale of the event. I can tell you this is the most anticipated state of the union slash joint session of congress speech in quite some time. Oh, to be a fly on the wall tonight in Washington, DC. Stay tuned. Surprises are no doubt coming.
President Trump, just as advertised, shaking things up and making things happen. Let’s just keep our fingers crossed it’s all for the best.
