Austin: It may have taken a while, but the truth is really starting to come out as to the lackluster response to the Capitol rioters January 6th, 2021. The House has finally released video submitted to them by HBO, they just got it recently, that shows unequivocally that Nancy Pelosi didn't have a clue as to how poorly the Capitol Police had been coordinating, their lack of coordination, with the offer of bringing in the National Guard to protect the Capitol on January the 6th.
Again, all of this information has been well known to Pelosi and well known to the officials that were in charge of the Capitol Police. But it's been buried, and we still wouldn't know about it if the Democrats were still in control of the House.
All of this information, all of this footage, has come to light because the Republicans refused to accept the pat answers that they've been getting for the last three years on this topic. Remember all the video of the security guards at the Capitol opening up the doors and letting those idiots into the Capitol without any resistance that was previously buried?
Now we've got Nancy Pelosi arguing with her own chief of staff about why the National Guard wasn't being called out, why there wasn't better coordination with the Capitol Police in the heat of the moment. None of that, none of that was ever discussed or gotten into in great detail by Pelosi after the fact.
The Democrats have been wanting to cover up the truth of this thing since the day it happened. Why? Because the chaos and the ridiculous optics of the day favored them over Donald Trump and the Republicans.
Look, the Capitol rioters were absolutely behaving like animals and idiots and thugs. They should have been handled with far more force and far more effort the day that it happened. There was a reason it didn't. And it sounds to me like it was a coordinated decision with Democrats, Capitol Police, and those that didn't want to make Trump look good or, excuse me, wanted to make him continue to look bad.
