Austin's Daily Commentary

Austin talks about today being economic boycott day, where consumers are supposed to avoid all purchases of any kind.

Austin: So, the big day is finally here. Today is the big economic boycott day. American consumers are supposed to avoid all purchases of any kind- fast food, retail, pharmacy, anything that's not a dire emergency, don't spend it. Well, unless, of course, you've got common sense and you have a brain of your own, then, of course, go ahead and do what you wanna do.

Oh, the DEI folks, ladies and gentlemen, they are just so concerned.

Consumers say the twenty-four-hour boycott all day today is going to continue in honor of the diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts that previous administrations have tried to put in that the Trump administration is targeting. The president's efforts to eliminate federal DEI programs has just turned them all upside down, these people, and they are going to make sure their voices are heard.

The groups are encouraging consumers not to spend any money anywhere all day long. If you have to spend, spend with local businesses, they say, which I always say anyway. But don't spend anything with Walmart or Kmart or Target or Sears or Kmart or be none of that that what?

No no no no big spending spending anywhere. Don't buy gas. Don't no fast food. Nothing. Again, unless, of course, you've got common sense, then feel free to spend however you want to.

Me, personally, I'm gonna go out and fill up all three cars today. We're gonna go to Walmart. We're gonna go to Kmart. We're gonna go to Sears. We're gonna go to all those places.

We're gonna spend, spend, spend. Today is our cat's birthday. Boo and Scout, we we gotta buy buy buy, all that we can. Catnip galore. You name it.

We're gonna buy it. Buy buy buy folks, don't let these idiots talk you into protesting something that doesn't make any sense anyway. Do yourself a favor. Get out and enjoy a wonderful day of shopping. Maybe there'll be a few less people in the stores.

So all the room is yours. All the specials are yours. All the carts are yours. All the parking spaces are yours. Buy, buy, buy. Spend, spend, spend. Whoop dee doo. And happy birthday to Boo and Scout. Celebrate the day.

And that's the comment. I'm Austin Rhodes. 95.1 FM News Talk, WGAC.
