State-Funded Transgender Surgery

WASHINGTON, DC – MARCH 5: The U.S. Capitol building is seen as Elon Musk meets with lawmakers on Capitol Hill on March 5, 2025 in Washington, DC. Austin talks about the bill Georgia Republicans have put together that rejects support for state-funded transgender surgery.

Austin: While there is one thing that Democrats seem to have really gotten together on in this past election season, that is the hatred of Donald Trump and pretty much anything that he gets behind. One problem they are having a very difficult time agreeing on is how far to take transgender rights. And we are seeing this fight play out in the state of Georgia, specifically. Georgia Republicans put together a bill that rejected support for state-funded transgender surgeries. And, boy, I gotta tell you, I really agree with it.

The science on it is incredibly inexact. There are a ton of people that go through this very expensive surgery that end up regretting it and wanting to reverse it. And if the state should be paying for all this, the way that it pays for cancer treatment or diabetes treatment is absolutely ridiculous. Bottom line, there is a huge debate within the Democrats as to how exactly transgender care should be handled. And, again, it has gotten far left wing liberals really, really at war with, now let's just say fair to Midland Liberals.

The Democrats are, quote, unquote, in the middle of the road, moderate, so to speak, and it has gotten incredibly nasty. As a matter of fact, the far lefties that are being rejected on just about every battlefield that they fight this battle on are vowing not to support Democrat initiatives in any way until the folks in the middle come to see their cause on this.

Bottom line, transgender rights ripping the Democrats apart and showing again that as much as they hate Trump, a lot of their internal struggles need to be settled before they take on any conservative successfully or the ongoing battle in the, culture wars. No doubt about it. Transgender rights, no one wants to see those folks persecuted.

But when it comes to paying for their controversial care, the taxpayer should not have anything to do with that, at least at this point. No doubt.
