Harlem Domestic Violence Incident Leads to Shots Fired
A Harlem domestic violence incident Saturday led to the suspect allegedly firing shots as he tried to get away. Now he’s in the hospital with what’s believed to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Major Steve Morris of the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were called to the 1100 block of Rolland Road in Harlem to a report of domestic violence.
Harlem Domestic Violence Incident Turned into a Pursuit
When they arrived, Bradley Keith Gooding was leaving the scene in a red 1990 Acura.
As deputies began to follow Gooding, he allegedly began firing shots from his vehicle.
Gooding continued traveling on Old Louisville Road. When he approached the intersection of Jaime Drive, Gooding reportedly lost control of the vehicle and crashed.
When deputies approached the vehicle, they said it appeared Gooding was suffering from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Gooding was transported to Wellstar MCG where he is in stable condition in the intensive care unit.
Charges Pending Against Gooding
- Battery Family Violence
- Aggravated Assault (no bond)
- Felony Fleeing or Attempting to Elude
- Reckless Driving
- Failure to Maintain Lane.
The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office says no deputies were injured during the incident.
