A major fire at Amick Farms in Saluda County broke out Saturday night. The cause is under investigation

A major fire at Amick Farms broke out around 9:30 pm Saturday at the plant on U.S. 178/Batesburg Highway.

Saluda County EMS said multiple units from several fire departments responded and fought the blaze well into Sunday morning.

The chicken plant is a major employer in Saluda County.

Officials say the cause of the fire is under investigation.

No one was injured, but officials aren't commenting on the extent of damage yet.

A statement on Amick Farms Facebook page says:

"Sunday January 26th Sanitation and night shift, and Monday, January 27th day shift do not report for your normal schedule. Support managers will be in touch with their team members on when to report. We will utilize normal channels of communication to share new information as it becomes available. Appropriate measures are being taken to best serve our team members, growers, and customers."
