A house fire in Gloverville early this morning has claimed the lives of two young children.

Firefighters were called to the home in the 200 block of Pine Street at 12:50 a.m. today.

Four children and their mother were in the home when the fire broke out. All five were taken either to Doctors Hospital in Augusta or Aiken Regional Medical Centers.

Aiken County Coroner Darryl Ables was called to Aiken Regional Medical Centers where he pronounced 6-year-old Serahya Jordan and 8-year-old Deandolyn Jordan dead as a result of their injuries.

Ables said a third sibling was transported to Doctors Hospital in critical condition.

The mother and a fourth child are being treated at Aiken Regional Medical Centers for non life-threatening injuries.

Two Gloverville Children's Bodies Will Be Autopsied

Autopsies on Serahya and Deandolyn Jordan will be performed in Newberry to determine the cause of death.

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, the Aiken County Sheriff's Office, and the Aiken County Coroner's Office are investigating the cause of the fire.
