A suspicious death is under investigation after a resident at a Richmond County senior living facility got injured last month and died several days later.

Richmond County Coroner Mark Bowen said 82-year-old Harry Millard was a resident at Barclay Senior Living in the 200 block of Frazier Court when he was injured January 6.

Bowen did not comment on how Millard was injured.

Suspicious Death followed Elderly Man's Injuries

Millard was transported by EMS to Piedmont Augusta and admitted. His condition at the time of his arrival was not given.

Bowen said Millard died at Piedmont on January 17.

Bowen said he was notified January 30 by the Richmond County Sheriff's Office that an investigation is underway, and is in the early stages.

There are unconfirmed reports that an employee of the senior living facility has been arrested in connection with the injuries that led to Millard's death.

No further information has been released from the Richmond County Sheriff's Office.
