A Richmond County teen was taken into custody Friday after allegedly stabbing his mother multiple times at their apartment on Skinner Mill Road.

Richmond County deputies were called to Merrick Place Apartments about a reported aggravated assault around 2:15 pm.

They found the victim, Krista Stewart, had multiple stab wounds.

"I observed profuse bleeding from Stewart's right eye and a deep laceration on her right hand. I also observed lacerations to the back of Stewart's head and her left shoulder," according to Deputy Stephen Harden's incident report.

Stewart told deputies she had been stabbed by her son, 17-year-old Davion Pinkston, with two adult witnesses confirming what had happened.

Maintenance workers in the building reportedly convinced Pinkston to put the knife down.

The incident was witnessed by Pinkston's 4-year-old sister, according to the report.
