Allegations of an inappropriate relationship between an employee at Evans High School and a former student are under investigation, it was announced today.

Parents of students have received a letter from Evans High School Principal Wade White acknowledging the allegations.

Allegations of Inappropriate Relationship Prompted Comments from Principal

"We have been notified of a report alleging an inappropriate relationship between an employee and a former Evans High School student. The Columbia County School District is currently investigating and the employee has been placed on administrative leave," said White.

Many social media posts have named the employee under investigation, but that has not been confirmed by White or the Columbia County School District.

"Safety of students and staff is a top priority and the CCSD does not condone nor does it tolerate inappropriate relationships. In an effort to keep you informed, we felt it was best to notify our parents of the ongoing investigation. Suspicious behavior should be immediately reported to a school administrator or by contacting the Columbia County School District anonymous Tip Hotline at 706-541-3600," added White.
