Austin: As another uneventful and peaceful November election cycle wraps up in Augusta-Richmond County, and Columbia County. It's time to thank two of the leaders of the two largest boards of elections in our area who continually do their job with little to no complication. And I got to tell you, that's rare in this day and age.
To Travis Doss in Richmond County and Nancy Gay in Columbia County. Job well done. You handle so many conflicts over the course of a any given season with such professionalism and aplomb. I have never heard either one of you assailed in any way. And that's really saying something.
Again, Travis Doss serving in Richmond County for many years as an assistant and recently taking over within the last few years as Lynn Bailey retired. And Nancy Gay, of course, has been the elections director in Columbia County for a while now.
Very, very rare that you've got locally raised individuals in positions of such power who who, again, operate with absolutely no problem and no complaint year after year after year after year. There are technology concerns at some point facilities, concerns at others.
But the leadership of these two. Nancy Gay in Columbia County, Travis Doss in Richmond County unassailed reputations. And what a comfort to have such important and wonderful professionals in those those pivotal positions. No doubt about it. Many thanks and congratulations again.
And by the way, if somebody wants to come steal them from the Atlanta area, we going to make sure we keep them. But who in the world could blame them given the trouble that they have out there? And that's the comment, I'm Austin Rhodes, AM 580/95.1 FM, News Talk WGAC.
