Austin: Many congratulations to the Gamecocks of South Carolina. I got to tell you, the SEC very, very proud. Those of us who hail from the South very, very proud as we should be. And again, Don Staley's amazing leadership at the University of South Carolina, unparalleled in recent years in women's basketball.
Just an amazing feat to watch. Okay, now that we have praised her and called her everything but a dynasty maker and she is a dynasty maker, actually, now it's time to confront the reality of something very dumb that she said the other day that got a lot of headlines. Dawn Staley says she has no problem with transgender athletes playing in women's sports. Naturally born men assuming the position of a woman in a woman's sports league. This is preposterous.
Take a look at the differences between the boys and the girls in the drive, chip and putt competitions, the distances, the strength. There is a reason that women's sports were invented, and it's not because people enjoy a slower pace of play when it comes to basketball. It's absolutely ridiculous. Patently ridiculous.
Natural born men have no role in a sports league built for women. Period. Put your political correctness aside. Park it. Listen to what Caitlyn Jenner and Martina Navratilova and the Williams sisters, all of those incredible women who know women's sports, they have the say in this. Now, why is why does anyone take the opinion they're afraid of hurting someone's feelings. They're afraid of being politically incorrect.
We have no fear of that in this forum. I'm telling you, it is an absolute ridiculous notion that natural born men have a place in women's sports. Take a look at the teams at Augusta National in the women's competition versus the men's competition. Take a look at the differences all along the way. When it comes to record setters in those respective sports and basketball, track and field, swimming men have no role in women's sports, not even if you're pretending to be a woman later in life. Get it? Got it. Good. And that's the comment, I'm Austin Rhodes, News Talk WGAC.
