Austin: Just in time for the excitement of the tournament to calm down. We've got a breaking news story out of Chicago, of all places, where a former employee of Augusta National has been identified as the suspect in a theft of millions of dollars in Masters Tournament memorabilia that took place over 13 years.

Brendan Globensky, who has family here in Augusta. Matter of fact, I believe graduated from high school from this area, has been charged in a one-page criminal notice filed yesterday with transporting stolen goods across state lines. An arraignment, according to the Chicago Tribune, is not yet immediately been scheduled.

By the way, these types of things normally are filed when a grand jury is not needed because a defendant is apparently preparing to plead in a case. I'm not sure how he would plead in this case. Haven't talked to Globensky, and it's going to be a very interesting situation again. Globensky, very well known to his neighbors here in the Augusta area, lives in a very nice house in Columbia County. Very wealthy man, apparently, it appears from the outside looking in, that is. And again, a theft scheme from Augusta National that goes back over 13 years.

I have found a professional listing that he created himself, where he described himself as a warehouse coordinator at Augusta National, again, going back, I believe, to 2011, something like that. Again, we are told that the memorabilia may have been sold through a website out of Florida. Been chasing that information down as well.

Again, it's all kind of being pieced together at the last minute here. We'll have full details this afternoon. But again, a major, major theft, discovered and now being prosecuted against an individual who used to work as a warehouse coordinator for Augusta National. More details this afternoon. Stay with us. I'm Austin Rhodes, News Talk WGAC.
