Spring is here! It's the time of year we open up the windows and air everything out for a good spring cleaning! The great thing about spring cleaning is getting rid of all the stuff you don't need anymore and freeing up space! The not-so-great part is trying to decide what to do with it all once you decide to get rid of it!  It's time to find that stuff a new home!

Finding The Best Place!

As it happens, there are tons of worthwhile non-profits looking for your gently used items all over the CSRA! The Catholic Social Services Thrift Store on Wrightsboro Road accepts gently worn clothing, outerwear, and shoes. Household goods like dinnerware, kitchen items, and bedding are accepted. Find a new home for your unwanted jewelry and accessories, heck, they even accept appliances! You can even schedule a pick up of your items if they are too large to bring in yourself. Proceeds from the Thrift Store help support Catholic Social Services of Augusta, a ministry that provides emergency assistance to poor, homeless, and at-risk individuals and families in the CSRA and surrounding areas.

Spring Cleaning

Another great place to check out is the Augusta Habitat for Humanity ReStore on Washington Road. while they don't accept clothing, toys, or bedding the ReStore does take furniture, household goods, construction materials, appliances, doors, windows, and many other items in salable working condition. The ReStore sells new and gently used merchandise that gets donated by companies and individuals. Then these items are sold to the public at a large discount off retail prices. Their proceeds then go to benefit Augusta/CSRA Habitat for Humanity building operations. So, bargain hunters get a great deal, you get rid of things you don't want laying around anymore with a little spring cleaning and Habitat for Humanity is able to help those in need. It's a win all the way around!
