The South Carolina Highway Patrol says the accident was reported just before 9:00 pm Saturday on Chime Bell Church Road near Busch Acres Lane.
The driver, identified as 61-year-old Billy D. Graham of Aiken, lost control of his pickup truck, veered off the right side of the road and struck a tree. Graham was taken to Augusta University Medical Center where he died early Sunday morning.
The Coroner's Office along with South Carolina Highway Patrol are investigating the cause of the accident. Toxicology analysis is pending.
