Two Men Critically Injured in Plane Crash in Sandersville
Two men were critically injured when a small plane crashed this morning in Sandersville.
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office says the twin-engine Velocity Twin aircraft went down in a swamp around 9:20 am on Kaolin Road, close to the Kaolin Field Airport.
Washington County authorities said the two people on the plane were identified as 67-year-old Daniel Mesnard and 69-year-old Timothy Fiser. One was airlifted to a hospital in Macon, while the other was taken to Augusta University Medical Center.
The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board have been called to investigate the cause of the crash.
