Man Wanted for Multiple Counts of Forgery
Richmond County authorities are looking for a man who is wanted on multiple counts of Forgery in the 3rd Degree.
The suspect, identified as Devonta Lyons, is accused of cashing fictitious checks from a business that he allegedly made out to himself.
The three bogus checks from Augusta Video Inc. totaled more than $5,300. Investigators say Lyons cashed the checks at three different locations of SRP Federal Credit Union. Authorities say Lyons cashed all three checks using a Georgia ID matching that name.
An SRP official said Lyons is not employed by the financial institution and has not done any work for the business.
