Woman Killed in Crash in South Augusta
A woman was killed in a two-vehicle wreck Wednesday night on Peach Orchard Road. Richmond County Coroner Mark Bowen says 71-year-old Betty Johnson of Rhodes Drive in Augusta was a passenger in one of the vehicles that collided near Circular Drive.
Bowen said Johnson was in a vehicle turning left onto Circular Drive when it was hit by a southbound vehicle.
Johnson was taken to Augusta University Medical Center where she died at 9:03 am today.
