Elderly Woman Killed in Hit-and-Run in Aiken County
A 91-year-old woman was found dead early Saturday morning in the 4000 block of Storm Branch Road near Silver Bluff Road.
The Aiken County Coroner’s Office says the body of Josephine Smalley was found just before 7 am on the side of the road. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
An autopsy will be performed Tuesday in Newberry.
The accident is under investigation and authorities are still looking for the hit-and-run driver.
