Man Wanted for Deadly Weekend Shooting in Wilkes County
A suspect has been named in a deadly shooting at a liquor store in Wilkes County last weekend.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation says two women were shot at WD Liquor Store on Whitehall Street in Washington late Saturday night. Investigators say it started with a confrontation between groups in the store that led to the shooting death of 23-year-old Deondra Barksdale. Authorities say Barksdale, who was holding her young child at the time, died the following day from a gunshot wound to the head. Another woman was shot and is still undergoing treatment for her injuries. One male was also injured during the June 24 altercation.
The GBI says 21-year-old Cedric Antonio Norman is wanted in connection with the deadly shooting. Norman is black, 5’4″ and weighs 148 pounds. When taken into custody, Norman will be charged with Murder, Aggravated Assault, Gang Activity and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime.
