Baby Shark Bath Toys Recalled After Children Cut
More than 7 million Baby Shark bath toys have been recalled following reports of children receiving puncture wounds and lacerations while playing with them.
Toymaker Zuru is recalling full-size and mini versions of the robotic Baby Shark toys that have hard plastic tops and fins.
The recalled products include Zuru’s Robo Alive Junior Baby Shark Sing & Swim Bath Toys and Robo Alive Junior Mini Baby Shark Swimming Bath Toys. The toys were sold at Walmart, Target, CVS, Walgreens and TJX Companies, as well as online, from May 2019 through March 2023.
Company officials emphasize the recall includes only the Baby Shark toys with a hard plastic fin. The newest toys, which have a silicone fin, are not part of the recall.
According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, 12 injuries have been reported so far. Nine of those cases required stitches or medical attention.
Consumers who have toys named in the recall should stop allowing children to use them immediately and contact Zuru for a full refund.
