Columbia County Deputy and Marshalls Department Officer Hit by Car
A Columbia County deputy and Marshall’s Department officer were taken to the hospital after they were hit by a car while responding to a report of a woman acting erratically at the Circle K convenience store at the intersection of Evans to Locks and Furys Ferry Roads around 2:30 pm today.
Witnesses said the woman tried to leave in her car when authorities arrived. Deputy Christopher Robertson was hit while trying to stop her and Marshall David Willis wound up getting pinned between the car and an ice machine door.
Both officers were taken to an area hospital for treatment of their injuries. It’s not known how seriously they were hurt. The woman was taken into custody.
So far, no other information about the incident has been released.
