The Best Moment In College Football On Saturday Happened Off The Field
Saturday brought more upsets and even a Hail Mary Pass. The Best Moment In College Football Happened Off The Field. Earlier in the week, the Clemson Tigers had already rallied Bryan Bresee by wearing “E11AStrong” t-shirts. On Thursday, he announced that he lost his 15 year old sister, Ella. She passed away after battling brain cancer.
On Saturday, they Tigers played Louisiana Tech at home. Louisiana Tech Coach Sonny Cumbie wore one of the t-shirts with #E11AStrong written on the front, with the 11 representing Bresee’s number. The support didn’t didn’t stop there.
The entire Louisiana Tech football wrote letters to the Bresee family. Here’s what Clemson Head Coach Dabo Swinney had to say, according to CBS Sports.
“I didn’t know Sonny Cumbie, but he forever has a fan in me,” said Clemson coach Dabo Swinney following the 48-20 win. “Class guy … class act. His whole football team. He came out with an #E11AStrong shirt. He wrote a note. I think his team wrote letters. It just makes my heart smile. In this competitive world we live in, there are people out there like Sonny Cumbie and that LaTech crowd. Class group. And I appreciate that gesture.”
A picture is worth 1,000 words, even when there are no words.
