Edgefield Authorities Confiscate Prescription Drugs and Marijuana During Traffic Stop
Edgefield County Sheriff’s deputies were on routine patrol December 3 when they spotted a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed.
Sheriff Jody Rowland said deputies stopped the vehicle on Edgefield Road near Greenhouse Road.
“While conducting a traffic stop, deputies observed an open container of liquor, as well as a strong odor of marijuana,” said Rowland.
Edgefield Authorities Arrest the Driver
Deputies said they searched the truck and discovered the driver, Frank McBurnett, allegedly had a large amount of marijuana, multiple packages of THC gummies and prescription pills in the vehicle.
McBurnett was taken into custody and charged with Possession With Intent to Distribute Marijuana and Possession of Schedule II Narcotics.
