Man in Custody for Robberies at Richmond County Restaurants
Richmond County authorities have a suspect in custody following two armed robberies and an attempted armed robbery at three restaurants Monday on Peach Orchard Road.
Deputies were dispatched to reported robberies at Zaxby’s (2629 Peach Orchard Road), Church’s Chicken (2701 Peach Orchard Road), and Family Dollar (2716 Peach Orchard Road). At each location, deputies were told that a black male carrying a backpack demanded cash from employees at the register. They said he was holding his hand in the backpack indicating he had a firearm while ordering workers to give him all the money out of the registers.
The suspect, now identified as 35 year old Falando Mobley, walked to all three businesses and was apprehended a short time later on Lumpkin Road.
Mobley, who is reported to be homeless, was charged with two counts of Armed Robbery, one count of Criminal Attempt Armed Robbery, and three counts of Possession of a Knife During the Commission of a Crime.
Authorities say no other information has been released due to the active investigation.
