From the Bottom of My Heart….Thank You
Most of you know I was involved in a horrific car accident a week ago that has left me devastated beyond words.
I’ve been in the news business for more than 40 years. I write and report stories every day about tragic events that change people’s lives forever. I now know those words, “change people’s lives forever,” aren’t just words.
I can’t explain the anguish of grieving the loss of a child you didn’t even know, trying to make sense of why I hadn’t stayed at work that day for just 5 more minutes, or why any of this had to happen. All I can do is to continue to ask for prayers for this poor mother and her family. By the grace of God, we both walked away with physical injuries that will heal. With God’s grace, the love and support of her family, friends and this entire community …will help her begin to heal one day at a time.
I have been so overwhelmed by the love, support and prayers I continue to receive each day and I just want to say thank you. I have been reminded how good people are. They don’t even have to know you, they just want to help. Don’t think others don’t feel your pain. They do.
I am just at a loss for words when it comes to saying thank you to everyone…..my amazing family, priceless friends, my wonderful Beasley family and even those I’ve never met that took the time to reach out. I have read each and every comment and have been so touched by every single word. Thank you. I will be back at work soon and I look forward to waking up with you and trying to be “oh that Mary Liz” again.
In the meantime, please pray for this precious mother and continue to shower her with the love and support she needs each and every day from all of us.
