Aiken County Public Schools Delayed, Some Roads Closed
Aiken County schools are operating on a two-hour delay this morning thanks to heavy rainfall that has caused flooding issues. Six to 8 inches of rain were recorded in the Aiken County area yesterday and more is on the way today.
“All schools and offices will open on a two-hour delays. Due to the delayed start, only lunch will be served today is our cafeterias,” according to a statement from the Aiken County Public School District.
Aiken County Public Schools Changes for Today
- Early Learning Special Education students will not go to school today since buses won’t be able to make mid-day routes.
- The Aiken County Career Center will not have morning classes
- Students will report to their high school on a two-hour delay.
Aiken County Roads Closed Due to Heavy Rain
- Whiskey Road from Knox Avenue to Grace Avenue
- The intersection of University Parkway and Vaucluse Road
- Price Avenue between Whiskey Road and Two Notch
Drivers are being asked to avoid those areas until further notice.
