Georgia Football Schedule Change In 2023
There will be a Georgia football schedule change in 2023. According to Dawgnation.com, the Bulldogs won’t play Oklahoma next year. They will instead play Ball State on September 9, 20023.
The SEC released a statement about how Oklahoma’s transition to the conference will impact certain games.
“The Southeastern Conference has directed the University of Georgia and the University of Tennessee to postpone scheduled football games versus Oklahoma because the transition of Oklahoma into the SEC will not allow for the involved institutions to fulfill their respective contractual non-conference home-and-home appearance obligations.” the statement said.
“Because the second non-conference game in the Georgia-Oklahoma home and home series is scheduled to take place after Oklahoma joins the SEC in 2025, the Conference is directing the postponement of the Georgia at Oklahoma game in 2023″ the league added.
This should be the only Georgia football schedule change for 2023. Texas and Oklahoma will join the SEC in 2025. Georgia has home-and-home set with the Texas Longhorns for the 2028 and 2029 seasons
