Austin talks about CSX Railroad doing construction and shutting down every single crossing.

Austin Rhodes: I don’t do well with unexpected traffic delays. That’s my confession for the for the morning. If you’re like me, when you go from point A to point B in traffic, you have very little budgeted time for emergencies and or detours. And if one’s thrown at you at the last minute, it can make you late to where you’re going.
Can you imagine yesterday being on River Watch Parkway and seeing that every single ingress or egress, once you either get on it or at the bottom of the top of River Watch Parkway, either in Martinez, Evans, or down at the destination in downtown Augusta. You can’t leave because all the interchanges are closed down because of railroad work.
That’s right. CSX railroad decides at the last minute they’re going to work on every single interchange, closing all of them down all day long. That is absolutely asinine and ridiculous. And the city of Augusta says they were given no warning, no notice whatsoever, that traffic was going to be disrupted in such a way. CSX just showed up and started doing it.
I don’t buy that. I think CSX told somebody it was coming, and someone with the city of Augusta just dropped the ball. I if I were the mayor, if I were Mayor Johnson, I would go to the CSX manager’s office or at least the biggest bigwig they can find in the area personally with a camera crew and say, “Excuse me, is this how you do business? Is this what you do? You shut down traffic on one of our main thoroughfares with no notice, simply at the drop of a hat.” I don’t buy it. I think CSX told somebody and someone with the city of Augusta forgot to mention it to us.
Dead damn serious on this. We need to check it out. Someone. Some camera crew somewhere needs to go to the CSX boss’s office and ask them what in the blue snot heck makes them think they can do that and get away with it> And don’t ever let it happen again.
Communication is key, ladies and gentlemen. Do what you got do. I understand construction has to happen. Improvements have to be made. But let people know so they can plan their day and their traffic patterns around what you do. Holy cow. It’s that simple. Find out who dropped the ball on this and punt their butt for sure. And that’s the comment, I’m Austin Rhodes, AM 580/95.1 FM News Talk WGAC.
Georgia Spot Among the Best Cheap Spring Break Trips
Spring break always arrives at just the right time. It’s when the holiday cheer has totally worn off, and it’s also right when spring is around the corner but it’s not quite here yet. I remember loving spring break in school. But, even if you’re not in school or college anymore, why not take a fun spring break trip this year? Thankfully, there are plenty of trendy, cheap spring break destinations available. One Georgia spot is even among the best cheap spring break trips in the US.
If you want to get the most bang for your buck, as they say, stay close to home. It doesn’t have to be a staycation. But, why not travel to a town that you’ve never been to that’s within road trip distance? Of course, if you live in a cold climate, you might want to travel to a hot spot. The good news is that a lot of warm spring break destinations have great rates, because tourist is simply their business. So, if you go to a popular spring break spot, chances are they’ll have some good deals and be able to cut you a good deal due to just how many people who travel there each year.
The perfect spring break destination is really about getting away from it all. You want a place that fun and exciting. But, you also want a spot that really helps you break away from routine and, hopefully, your electronic devises. Another bonus is if you find a spring break destination near friends who you maybe haven’t seen in a while. It can be a really fun trip to find a central location and meet up with long-lost friends.
