Grovetown Woman Dies After Being Rescued from Burning Home
A Grovetown woman has died after being pulled from her burning home in Sugarcreek subdivision off Lewiston Road this afternoon.
The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office says firefighters were called to the home on Sugarcreek Drive around 3:30 pm.
Authorities say 53-year-old Christina Bernstein was rescued from the fire at her home and was taken to Doctor’s Hospital where she later died.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
