A 4-wheeler rider that was killed in a two-vehicle accident early this morning in Aiken County has been identified.

Aiken County Coroner Darryl Ables says 46-year-old Jeremy Willets of Adams Newsome Road in Graniteville Road was killed in the wreck.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol says it happened at 7:15 am on Ascauga Lake Road near Breezy Hill Road, just west of Graniteville.

4-Wheeler Rider Pulled into the Path of Another Vehicle

The South Carolina Highway Patrol says Willets was headed west on the 4-wheeler on a power-line path as a Chevy van was traveling south on Ascauga Lake Road.

"The four-wheeler attempted to cross Ascauga Lake Road when it pulled into the path of the van, causing the van to entrap the four-wheeler and rider beneath it," according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

Willets was pronounced dead at the scene at 8:15 am.

The two occupants of the van were not injured.

Traffic was blocked on Breezy Hill Road near the scene of the accident while emergency crews were on the scene.
