AUSTIN: It is the most wonderful time of the year for those of us who enjoy thrill rides. The Georgia-Carolina Fair, also known as the Augusta Exchange Club Fair, is busy through the rest of the weekend.
That’s right. Looks like the weather forecast is going to cooperate for most of the week, to be sure. Go ahead and get your fair riding in early, though.
By the way, one of the best values for the dollar that you’re going to find for your family anywhere. I don’t know if you’ve priced Disney World or Universal Studios lately, even Six Flags. It’s just getting really, really expensive.
But the Augusta Fair, the Georgia-Carolina Fair, remains a great value right in the heart of downtown Augusta at the fair grounds, as usual, the 100th anniversary of the very first fair. What a great deal it’s been.
And I got to tell you, I have so many wonderful memories. My father taking me when I was a very small child, me enjoying it with both my kids through many, many years and many, many fairs. I can’t get enough of it. And just when you thought you’d seen it all and done it all, I’ve been told some really cool new taste treats are being featured this year at the fair. Tell you what, Too many for me to list the one that I have to make sure that I try though. And I think my wife is even excited about this one. The deep fried cannoli. Looking forward to that.
In the meantime, the fair will run through next weekend. Get them and enjoy it. Thrill rides galore. The Augusta Exchange Club turns profits right back over to the local charity. What a wonderful deal all the way around. And many thanks to the Augusta Exchange Club for continuing to bring us the fair over all these years. What a great and wonderful organization that is and always has been. Thank you, gentlemen and ladies. And that’s the comment, I’m Austin Rhodes, AM 580/95.1 FM News Talk WGAC.
