Female Inmate Found Unresponsive at Charles Webster Detention Center has Died
The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office says a female inmate at the Charles B. Webster Detention Center who was found unresponsive at 1:10 p.m. Tuesday has died.
The inmate has been identified as Stacey Lopez.
“Stacey Lopez was found alone in an isolation cell unresponsive from what is believed to be a self-inflicted injury,” according to a statement from the Sheriff’s Office.
Lopez was rushed to Augusta University Medical Center where she died today.
The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office has asked the GBI to investigate the incident. Authorities say the investigation is on-going and no other information will be provided at this time.
