Two Scott Stallings, One Masters Invite To Play In Augusta
A Chamblee, Georgia man received an unexpected package just before New Year’s Eve. Scott Stallings, had just arrived with his wife Jennifer to ring in the new year at their St. Simons Island condominium.
According to WSB-TV, that’s when the excitement started. “She said, ‘Oh my god you’re going to the Masters!’ We thought it was random tickets and she says, ‘No you’re playing!’” Scott Stallings told Channel 2. “I knew immediately then it was the other Scott Stallings.”
“The letter on the inside didn’t match the letter address. The address is right around the corner from us, though,” Scott said.
According to ESPN, he reached out to the other Scott Stallings he knew it was intended for on social media.
“Hi Scott,” the man wrote. “My name is Scott Stallings as well and I’m from [Georgia]. My wife’s name is Jennifer too! … I received a FedEx today from the Masters inviting me to play in the Masters Tournament April 6-9, 2023. I’m [100%] sure this is NOT for me. I play but wow! [Nowhere] near your level.”
The 37 year old PGA Tour Stallings last played in the the Masters in 2014.
