Alcohol License For Evans Business Get Revoked
The Columbia County Commission meeting on Monday is getting attention after a 4-1 vote to revoke the alcohol license of a local business. As a result, Stay Social Tap and Table’s owner and employees found out that the change impacts their customers immediately.
Renee Hajek was originally notified in early September that Columbia County would be taking action to suspend or revoke the license.
According to WRDW TV, the owner had sent the county revenue numbers that reflected food sales at 47%. Meanwhile, Columbia County requires food sales of 50% as the minimum to have an alcohol license.
Afterward, Kris Price told the media that he didn’t think the decision was fair. “We’re right here across from the Evans Towne Center Parks. It’s right here. In the midst of all the action between a park and the performing arts center, and it’s just kind of a focal point here in this in this new downtown area,” he said.

The Board of Commissioners meet the first and third Tuesday of every month at 6:00 p.m. Meetings are held at the Evans Government Center Complex at 630 Ronald Reagan Drive and open to the public.
