Update: One Person Killed, Arrest Made in Augusta Convenience Store Shooting
Man Shot and Killed on South Kensington Drive
An Augusta man was arrested after a shooting that left a man dead at a convenience store on Wrightsboro Road. Law Enforcement responded to the Smart Grocery convenience store on the 3200 block of Wrightsboro Road around 11:30 a.m.
Darontaye Cummings, 17 of Augusta has been charged with murder, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, and possession of an article with altered identification.
Richmond County Coroner Mark Bowen identified the victim as Zayquantez Jones, 17. An autopsy will be conducted.
