Hurricane Ian Collapses Part Of South Carolina’s Pawleys Island Pier
Hurricane Ian made landfall along the South Carolina coast on Friday around 2:00 p.m. News 2 in Charleston is reporting that The Category One storm partially collapsed part of the Pawleys Island Pier as it made landfall in Georgetown.
“The flooding has been catastrophic. Please stay away from the area,” police said.

- The Charleston Police Department is now restricting access to the Battery as Ian’s winds lash the coast.
- Charleston County has temporarily suspended EMS operations.
- Isle of Palms Fire Department is temporarily suspending operations.
