Army Developing Tactical Bra for Female Soldiers
Uniforms have largely been designed for the boys, but the Army is working on something for the girls’ … well … girls.
The Army Tactical Brassiere is a product undergoing testing at the Army’s Combat Capabilities Development Command Soldier Center.
In the fall, the Soldier Center’s Design Pattern Prototype Team is expected to present an initial evaluation to the Army Uniform Board, which would establish the Army Tactical Brassiere as an official program of record.
“If the AUB makes it a program of record, we would want to promote that as a [Soldier Center] accomplishment and win for female Soldiers across the Army,” wrote Jeff Sisto, a public affairs officer with Soldier Center, in an email to Army Times.

The U.S. Army is in the process of developing a tactical bra for female soldiers.
The Army Tactical Brassiere will become the first official uniform bra the Army has ever offered its female soldiers, if it gets the okay from the Army Uniform Board.
The Army Times reports officials surveyed hundreds of female soldiers across the Army to get information about the proper fit, function, support and performance to develop a possible design for the product that would be added to the U.S. Army uniform for female soldiers.
The Army Times reports, “Soldier Center’s Design, Pattern and Prototype Team will present final concepts and designs for the bra to the Army Uniform Board in the fall of 2022,” according to David Accetta, U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command Soldier Center spokesperson.
