Burke County Woman Killed In Wreck On Gordon Highway Ramp
A Burke County woman was killed in a single vehicle accident Sunday night on the entrance ramp from Gordon Highway onto Bobby Jones Expressway eastbound.
The Richmond County Coroner’s Office says 56-year-old Jeanna Jones lost control of her vehicle. It ran off the ramp and into a wooded area before rolling over.
Jones was pronounced dead at the scene at 6:30 pm.
Coroner Mark Bowen said an autopsy has been scheduled.
Burke County Woman’s Death Comes Days After a Pedestrian Fatality
Jones’ death was reported just three days after a female pedestrian was struck and killed in south Augusta.
Coroner Mark Bowen said 59-year-old Lynette Taylor of Hephzibah was hit while trying to cross Peach Orchard Road in the 4300 block on October 23. Taylor died at the scene at 10:15 pm.
No autopsy was scheduled.
