Texas Roadhouse To Donate All Profits Monday To Apalachee High School
Texas Roadhouse locations in Georgia, including one in Augusta off Washington Road, will donate 100% of their profits Monday, September 23, to Apalachee High School in Winder, Georgia.
The school was the site of a mass shooting September 4 that left two students and two teachers dead. Nine others were injured, but are expected to make a full recovery.
The alleged shooter, 14-year-old Colt Gray, is being held without bond in the Barrow County Jail.
Texas Roadhouse to Help Families Affected by the Tragedy
On Monday, those who purchase a meal at all 19 Texas Roadhouse locations in Georgia will be contributing to the Barrow Community Foundation, designed to support families who have been affected by the mass shooting at Apalachee High School.
“Contributions to the fund will be dedicated to the recovery of the families, students, staff and community affected by this heartbreaking event through June 30, 2025,” according to organizers of the fund.
Monday hours at Texas Roadhouse are 3 pm-10 pm.
What Officials Know About Colt Gray
The alleged shooter had just started his freshman year at Apalachee High School. Officials say he was armed with an AR-15-style rifle when he opened fire shortly after classes began that day.
Students Mason Schermerhorn and Christian Angulo, and teachers Richard Aspinwall and Cristina Irimie were killed in the attack.
Colt Gray surrendered to school resource officers and was taken into custody. He’s been charged with four felony counts of murder.
Gray’s father, Colin Gray, was arrested after the shooting and charged with two counts of second-degree murder, four counts of involuntary manslaughter, and eight counts of cruelty to children. Investigators say Gray was charged for giving his son the weapon used in the shooting.
