Austin talks about vehicle thefts in California and police officers not being able to stop it.
Transcript:
Austin: They say it’s one of the most dangerous square miles in the country. Get this now. Three gas stations within a single square mile of each other near the Oakland Airport in California are struck a dozen times or more every single day by brazen vehicle thefts.
Officers tell the Daily Mail that they’re powerless to halt the crimes because they have been classified as nonviolent, and the situation is growing worse than it’s ever been. That’s right. Vehicle thefts have been around 50% in the Oakland area, with 12,956 incidents reported in 2023 alone. The officers claim that the city’s progressive crime policies in the state of California’s attitude toward repeat offenders has put them in a situation that is untenable.
One exasperated officer quoted in the Daily Mail today is saying, quote, we are blanked, which is not a good thing, ladies and gentlemen, to be blank quite the way that he is describing. It’s unbelievable. And they say again, it’s simply getting worse. Uh, police officers have restrictive policies that have been passed by state and local lawmakers, which means that they cannot pursue the thieves because smash and grab is a nonviolent crime. Quote we can’t go do a car chase on any nonviolent crime. I can get behind the cars and try and turn on my lights. But why would they stop? Which means I can’t chase them. Unreal.

I live in a red state and in a red county in a red neighborhood. On top of that. You folks out there on the left, I don’t know how you tolerate. Well, I’m just glad I don’t have to tolerate it. Avoid those areas whenever possible. The progressives in charge of law and order are going to let you down every single time. Check out that article The Austin Rhodes Show page on Facebook. Unbelievable. And that’s the comment, I’m Austin Rhodes. AM 580/95.1 FM News Talk WGAC.
