Austin: In my family, voting was not just a responsibility. It was viewed as a sacred duty. As a matter of fact, going back as far as I can remember, no one in my family consciously missed an opportunity to vote. And that goes back to my earliest memories of my grandparents on both sides of my family. I’ve been to the voting polls with all kinds of elderly members of my family, so I can’t imagine in this day and age not taking your responsibility seriously and getting out and voting whenever possible.
We’ve heard from the elections directors in both Columbia County and Richmond County that voting is light across the area and there are all kinds of elections going on from Aiken to Thomson to Grovetown. Of course, big election over there. Go Gary Jones. And of course, the arena vote. And it goes to Richmond County. No matter your opinion on any of this stuff, it is your civic duty to get out and make a responsible and informed choice vote.
Ladies and gentlemen, you need to do it. We need to stay involved in our government. We need to let the folks who actually show up for work every day in government jobs that we are very much aware of what they do and we expect them to do their very best.
You get out and vote. Whether it’s an early vote, which wraps up today or the actual voting day of next Tuesday. It’s important. You need to do it. People died for your opportunity to do that. Do not take it lightly. And that’s the comment, I’m Austin Rhodes, AM 580/95.1 FM News Talk WGAC.
