Manhunt Underway for Richland County Jail Escapee
An inmate at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center in Richland County escaped overnight, prompting a manhunt now underway.
Authorities say 38-year-old Charles Kenneth Meador was last seen at the facility during a 3 am headcount of inmates, but was missing at the next count. The Richland County Sheriff’s Office says there’s no indication Meador is armed, but authorities say he should not be approached if spotted.
Meador is white, 5’8″ and 160 pounds. He has brown hair and blue eyes.
Meador had been in custody since early April for Use of a Vehicle without Permission, Grand Larceny, Receiving Stolen Goods and Resisting Arrest.
Information on how Meador escaped has not been made available.
