South Carolina Set to Hold Sales Tax Holiday in August
Some area South Carolina students head back to school earlier than ever at the end of this month. That’s because some school systems, including Aiken County, are set to begin year-round school.
South Carolina shoppers will once again get a chance to buy back-to-school items tax-free during the first weekend in August. Once again, there will be no sales tax holiday in Georgia this year.
The South Carolina Department of Revenue says tax free shopping days will be from 12:00 am August 4 to 11:59 pm August 6 in the state. Eligible tax-free items can be purchased either in-store or online without paying the state’s 6% sales tax and any applicable local taxes during those designated days.
