Grovetown Man Shot By Stepdaughter has Died
A woman who drove herself to the Grovetown Police Department Tuesday and admitted she had just shot her stepfather now faces murder charges.
Authorities say Clarence Jordan was sitting in the garage of his home on Grove Landing Way when his stepdaughter, 44-year-old Tasha Lawrence, arrived to bring her mother flowers.
Lawrence, who told authorities she and Jordan had an ongoing dispute, reportedly returned to her car, got a gun and shot Jordan. Grovetown Police say Jordan died at noon today as a result of his injuries.
Lawrence, who has been held in the Columbia County Detention Center on Aggravated Assault and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony charges, will now be charged with murder.
