Burke County Deputy Seriously Hurt in Crash
A Burke County Deputy was seriously injured this afternoon in a two-vehicle wreck involving a dump truck in Columbia County.
The accident happened in the westbound lanes of I-20.
A statement from the Burke County Sheriff’s Office said, “The officer is in serious but stable condition at a local area hospital and will be undergoing further testing. We ask that you respect the privacy of the officer involved and keep him and his family in your thoughts. Additional information will be released when it becomes available.”
There has been no information made available about the cause of the accident or the condition of the dump truck driver.
