Man Wanted for Tournament Week Burglary at Local Hotel
The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a man believed to have broken into a room at the Suburban Extended Stay Hotel on Claussen Road last week.
Investigators say they’re looking for 43-year-old Kenneth Lee Brown Jr. of Augusta in connection with the break-in. Brown was reportedly employed by the hotel until he was laid-off a year ago. Personnel at the hotel told deputies Brown was spotted in a vehicle on the property three weeks ago and was asked to leave. A white female was in the car with him.
The victims of the burglary, out of town workers employed for the week at the Masters Tournament, had numerous items taken from their room including luggage and electronics. Some items have been recovered.
Brown is black, 5’11” and weighs 165 pounds. He has warrants on file at the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office.
Anyone that comes in contact with Brown or has any information on his whereabouts is asked to contact Investigator Joshua Evans or any on call investigator with the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office at 706-821-1020 or 706-821-1085.
