Burke and Richmond County Deputies Argue, One Arrested
Burke County Sergeant Allen Crispin was attending an event Saturday night at the Augusta Common when he wound up getting arrested for disorderly conduct.
According to a statement from the Burke County Sheriff’s Office, Crispin, his wife and brother-in-law heard a baby crying, then witnesses an adult Hispanic man slap the baby in the face. The man was then seen leaving with the child, who was in a stroller. A news release says an adult Hispanic female was seen leaving the area with them and the two adults were arguing.
Crispin reportedly followed the pair, then approached a Richmond County deputy who was working security for the event. The Richmond County Deputy, identified as Sgt. Ty Hester, and Crispin got involved in an argument. A news release says Hester wound up arresting Crispin for disorderly conduct.
Crispin was released from the Richmond County Detention Center, then received medical treatment for numbness in his hands and shoulders. The incident is now under investigation by the Internal Affairs Division.
